What if the version of you that you've been waiting for is ready to start today?
What if the version of you that you've been waiting for is ready to start today?
Sometimes life can feel hard to navigate, especially if it feels like you're doing it by yourself. You can feel like you're stuck, disconnected from the people and the world around you, and drifting through life.
Uncertainty can make it seem like you're losing your way, or that you're following a path you didn't choose, or didn't want to choose; but you've been doing it so long it doesn't seem like there's an alternative.
I get that.
I'm Liz and I've been working with adults and young people for the last 25 years, helping them to achieve their full potential and resolve difficulties like those above.
I believe passionately that you're the expert in your own life, the master of your own destiny, and it's my role to help you steady your course, explore new directions and pathways, and find the inner resources you already have, even when you don't believe you have them.
I aim to create a space where you can reflect and talk freely about the things you find hardest or that cause you the most difficulty.
I listen; I hear you, without judgement; and I value your opinions so you can work to reach your goals, consider new perspectives and help you live the life you want. The therapeutic relationship we build will support you to do this.
That doesn't mean I won't challenge you. It doesn't mean the journey is easy. It's not. In fact sometimes it's the hardest thing you'll ever do.
But it's worth it.
Reaching a better understanding of yourself and those around you, valuing yourself and your experiences, enables you to make a connection and change how you see your world and the people in it. You'll connect with them differently and find new ways to live your life, on your terms, and with a new appreciation and perspective of your own place in it.
I use an integrative approach to counselling. What's that I hear you say?
Integrative therapy draws on techniques from a variety of different therapy modalities including cognitive, behavioural, person-centred and psychodynamic.
This enables me to create an approach that's tailored to you, as you are, on the day. It means the support you receive can adapt as your needs change, help you explore the past, understand and perhaps relate better to the present, and build strategies to help you into the future
About Me
Liz Muir COSCA PGDip Experienced Coach and Counsellor
I started my working life as an accountant and moved from that into general management, completing my MBA and membership and fellowship of various industry bodies along the way, ending up as CEO of an organisation.
But I wasn't happy. There was nowhere else for me to go. So I started my own business in training and organisational development, using the skills I'd gained over the years to help others achieve success in their careers and businesses.
Over time something changed. Coaching sessions were becoming something different, people were more fearful for their future and their prospects and I realised I wasn't equipped to support people as they needed, so I completed my training as a counsellor and psychotherapist and have set up Wheelhouse Therapy to bring all the skills I have to offer, to help support you in your journey.
